Rhett graduated from the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a degree in Biology/Chemistry in 1991. He then continued his education, graduating with a degree as a Medical Technologist in 1994 from UAB. He worked for Crestwood Hospital clinical laboratory in Huntsville, where he was microbiology supervisor until 1996. Due to the void locally for culture testing in the north Alabama areas, Rhett founded Microphase Clinical Laboratory in 1996. Rhett's mission was to decrease culture turnaround times to better serve the north Alabama area. Rhett has served many local doctors/clinicians over the last 30 years, performing reliable and reporting timely results when infection is suspected and to rule out infection. This promoted appropriate antibiotic therapy and prevented the misuse of antibiotics. Rhett offers preliminary culture results in 18-24 hours when requested. These results are sent via email, fax, text message or phone call directly to the clinician. Most culture specimens processed by Microphase were submitted from all the local ENT clinics in Huntsville and Madison, surgical centers, infectious disease clinics, family practices and pediatricians. When Microphase Clinical Laboratory was acquired by another laboratory this spring of 2026, Rhett could not leave the micro world, so he is combining his love of animals with his expertise in bacteriology to open this veterinary clinical microbiology lab.
Rhett has been married to his high school sweetheart for 35 years. Besides his three daughters that are also all medical professionals, his other furry children Kiki and LD also have his heart.

Linda graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS degree in Microbiology. She was the microbiology supervisor for Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville from 2002 to 2018. She provided her expertise at MicroPhase for 23 years to aid in the operations of the lab. Being a former laboratory inspector for College of American Pathologists (CA
Linda graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS degree in Microbiology. She was the microbiology supervisor for Crestwood Hospital in Huntsville from 2002 to 2018. She provided her expertise at MicroPhase for 23 years to aid in the operations of the lab. Being a former laboratory inspector for College of American Pathologists (CAP), she helps to maintain compliance. Her expertise is in mycology(fungal) and bacteriology interpretations. Linda enjoys travelling and making the best Christmas goodies to share.
